Designing for trust
In late 2021, Kickstarter's plan to invest in a Web 3 protocol met with fierce opposition from its creator community. The people whose projects fuel Kickstarter's revenue, Creators said, were working with outdated tools and limited investment in their success.
Kickstarter began to rebuild its relationship with Creators by opening listening channels and opportunities to have a voice in platform development. In that process, I found significant gaps in the company's approach to ensuring trust in its products and designs.
